Bas Elekktrotekk

Bas ElekktroTekk started his musical journey in his early teens in Beirut. However, it was only a few years after leaving for London that he established himself as a DJ. This was first in a university club, then a few mainstream bars around Soho. A couple of years later it was evident that his music was more suited to big clubs and he started DJing on the Fetish scene! Having first played at Censored and then Wicked, it was only at Subversion that he found his musical home. For the last few years he has also DJed at the Rubber Ball.

Intense baselines, tough and explosive beats and insane breakdowns and buildups are characteristic of the music he plays. His energy dissipates out onto the dancefloor with every beat – never one to mix two tracks and stand back, he is constantly involved through the multitude of effects he uses. His track selection is increasingly including ones that he has produced himself over the years and these seem to be having the biggest effect on the dancefloor and, therefore, being released gradually under his newly established record label (ElekktroTekk – www.elekktrotekk.com).

With ElekktroTekk he aims to provide a musical experience soon to include audiovisual elements. It will be much more than just a label.

When asked about his DJ profile he said “where I have played, where I play and where I would like to play are the less significant details. Music is where I have been, where I am and where I am going!”
