Rob Parish began DJ’ing in 1991, in true Rock n Roll fashion. While working as a sports reporter for RTM radio, he was asked to fill in for the Dance Show presenter, as a stopgap, until they could find a replacement. He did so well that he was asked to present the show on a weekly basis and the show ran for eight months, until programming changes forced all specialist shows off the schedule.
But by now, Rob was hooked, and having taught himself to mix, he started playing at various parties around London and the south-east, such as Release The Pressure, and at well known venues around the country such as Angels in Burnley, and The Eclipse in Coventry. In 1991 he began his residency at The Boardwalk, where he ran the successful DISCO INFERNO night, playing funky house way before it was fashionable, and which ran for eight years.
By 1994, Rob had secured a weekly residency at Strawberry Sundae, fortnightly at Secret People, and monthly at Gism. In 1996, Rob moved into the field of promoting, helping to set up one of London’s first underground trance and banging house clubs, GHOST, which is now in its 13th year.
Rob is currently resident at Club RUB, and has regular guest slots at promotions such as Love to Funk. He is a versatile DJ, able to play anything from Funky, Tribal, Latin and Classic House, through to jazz funk soul and rare groove.
