Alex Mark a.k.a Finkelstein/Monomer is what one could describe as an electronic dance music maverick who’s DJing sound champions all that’s great about the more underground sounds of Chicago and Detroit. The sparser end of the spectrum of micro beats and off kilter melodies being a particular favourite for the many people that used to attend his twice a month ‘WORD!’ nights of Tech House and Minimal Techno through late 2007 and 2008.
That time was spent wisely as the Finkelstein and Monomer production projects have now started to garner support from House and Tech Dj’s alike. Starting 2009 with some cheeky remixes of some well known tracks, Finkelstein has developed a very unique but ultimately danceable sound of his own with the Monomer side project developing a more Techno sound with his eye’s & ears firmly set on the Berlin sound currently finding favour all across the globe.
The latest track to get the Finkelstein redeux, is Villain-Tim Sheridan (Finkelsteins Drag You To Hell Rmx), for VeryVeryWrongIndeed Recordings, a very dark and emotive track which has won great praise across the board for its hypnotic lead and scarey sub sound! This is soon to be released on the VVWI label, so keep a look out for that one.
